The next two speakers have been selected for the Philosophy and Religion lecture series.

  • Dr. D. Stephen Long, Ethics chair at Southern Methodist University, will present the next Smith-Willson lecture on Monday, February 22, at 4pm in Wroten Hall on the Southwestern campus. Dr. Long will present “Let’s Get Speculative: The Importance of the Doctrine of God for Everyday Life.”
  • Dr. Kevin Watson, Assistant Professor of Wesleyan and Methodist Studies at Candler Divinity School of Emory University will present the next Parkhurst Lecture on Tuesday, March 29, at 7pm, also in Wroten Hall. His topic will be “No Holiness but Social Holiness: Small Group Formation in Early Methodist Theology and Practice.
