Amp It Up camp develops worship leadership skills in youth

It’s not every day that summer campers get a chance to both gain experience leading worship and professionally record music, but that’s precisely what high school campers did at Southwestern College’s annual Amp It Up worship band camp. Amp It Up is for students who want to use their musical talents to lead worship. This year, 29 students attended the 5-day camp May 26-30, 2016. New Christmas album connects traditions new and old

Winfield, Kan. — A band made up of Southwestern College alumni and friends is releasing an album of live Christmas worship music entitled In the Company of Friends. The album features rock worship-style variations on Christmas favorites such as “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” “The First Noel,” and “What Child Is This,” as well as newer songs by contemporary artists and original music by band members. “What makes this project so special is the fact that all of us are friends and family of the college,” said producer and performer on the album,…continue reading →

2015 Amp It Up! Deadline Approaching and CD Project Announced

Amp It Up Camp is just around the corner! Registration deadline is May 1- Visit this page to register! The first night of camp will be kicked off with a live album recording concert titled “In the Company of Friends.” The album will be produced by Joel Cameron of Nashville. The concert will include Christmas hymns and songs, and will be performed by SC alumni and friends: Travis Hastings, Sarah Miller, Daniel Miller, Josh Melcher, Monica Cooper, Stephen Butler, and special guest Jennifer Petterson.
